My First Camping

Soon I'll be in first grade and won't be able to be at Grandma and Grandpa's house during the week. So they promised to take me camping this summer. We went to Jellystone Campground, a really cool place with it's own swimming pool and mini golf course. Lately, we like to play a lot of mini golf! Instead of a tent, we stayed in a real RV. I had my own bunk bed. There were three, but I wanted to sleep on the very top! We made campfires and Grandma and me rode our bikes and we all went to the pool a lot. Most of the time we had the pool all to ourselves and I did tons of cannonballs. I can swim really good now and go underwater all the time. We went to Frankenmuth, a place where it looks like Germany, and got big pretzels. We also went to Mirror Maze, which was a-mazing! We couldn't find our way out. There was the biggest Christmas store I ever saw called Bronners with a giant Santa Claus. Back at the campground we made smores with a kit Mommy got me. They were yummy! We had so much fun we decided that we come back again next year.

Fireworks!!!!

Yesterday was my very first time visiting a foreign country - Canada! We stayed overnight at a hotel in Windsor, just across the river from Detroit. Grandma and Grandpa came too, so we could watch the fireworks from our room. They were the MOST AWESOME fireworks I ever saw. I filmed them on my iPhone and want to put them on YouTube. We had the most fun ever!

A Big Step into First Grade

We celebrated our last few days in Kindergarten with my very first concert! ! Now I will have the whole summer off and in September I'll be in 1st grade!

Finally, it's getting warmer and Grandma and Grandpa took me to the park today. I was able to do a lot of things I couldn't do last year, because now I'm bigger.

Last week we had the same conversation about Mirada Cosgrove (from "I Carly") and her new song!

My favorite cartoon character for a long time now has been Mario. I have Mario sheets, Mario clothing, I had a Mario costume at halloween and now I am making up Mario stories and filming them. Here are two I did with Grandpa last week:

A Weekend in the Country

Grandma and Grandpa fixed up Uncle David's cottage and we can sleep there now. It was my first time sleeping in the cottage. We got to build a big fire and roast weenies and marshmallows. Then we fired off my rocket and went inside for Parcheesi and coloring. Grandma read to me from my new Spongebob Christmas book and they let me stay up until midnight!!

Halloween 2010

It's Halloween time again and Grandma and Grandpa took me to pick out a pumpkin. We each found a pumpkin we liked. Grandma picked a white one and Grandpa and I picked out big orange ones. When we went home Grandma carved a scary face on it for me. We put it in the bathroom and turned off the light so we could see the scary face in the dark. I took a movie of it on my new spy watch and made scary sounds too. You can watch the movie here!

My First Play

Last Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa invited Mommy and I to go to Stratford, Canada for my first play in a real theater! Grandma has been doing musicals for a long time and she loves the theater, so she hopes I will grow to love it too. She says when I get older, if I want to, she will take me often.

It was my first time out of the country and we got to go over a big bridge. When we got to the other side, we were in Canada. It was kind of a long drive (almost three hours), but Mommy and I kept busy in the back seat playing Mario and Zombies and Plants on my IPad.

When we got to Stratford we walked around the lake a little to stretch our legs. There were lots of swans and ducks and geese!

Then we played on the playground for awhile...

We had lunch in a neat pizza place and afterward watched a juggler who was throwing three flaming torches while he was balancing on a rolling board on top of a table! Then it was time to go to the theater. They had a lot of fun stuff to do in front of the theater: jumping tents and slides, face painting, and I even walked the plank!

Finally, it was time to go inside. We had front row seats! I could see everything really close up. Nana the dog was lying on the stage right in front of me and I was waving to her. We all clapped and shouted "I believe in fairies" and Tinkerbell came to life again. The pirate ship was so big and it came right to the edge of the stage almost on top of us. Daddy bet me that Peter wouldn't really fly - but he was wrong! He owes me two dollars!

When it was over Mommy bought me a neat Peter Pan pop-up book and an eyepatch. I was glad I had just lost my first tooth the week before because I think it makes me look tough! Don't you???

Hey! My daddy and I draw the same way. The first is my drawing and then these are some daddy did when he was just a little older than me. Only, I wrote how old Mommy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa are next to their pictures. I love drawing, reading and writing now that I have the hang of it!

Halloween 2009

Every year I get bigger and Halloween gets more fun! This year I got to wear TWO different costumes: Indiana Jones and Batman. Those are my favorite guys to play when I'm with Grandpa. I even hum the music from Indiana Jones all the time! My Daddy wore a scary clown mask. My favorite candy is candy corn and I got a big bag of it from Grandma. This year my friend Ella Mae came over and we went trick or treating together. She was a pirate. When we got back home we passed out lots of candy to the other kids too. Can't wait til next year! I wonder what I'm going to be then?

My Christmas Present

I love Christmas! On Christmas Eve, Grandma let me pass out all the presents from under the tree. I had five packages! They had numbers on them, so I could open them in order. The first package was an astronaut suit! The second was the boots, the third was the helmut and the fourth was an inflatible space shuttle. I put the suit on and didn't want to take it off. Daddy got a cool present too: a Nintendo Nerf video game. I liked that one as much as Daddy! Here I am with my astronaut suit on.

Today, at Grandma's, she let me take pictures with her camera. Want to see some of my photos?
I took a picture of Grandma and Grandpa when we went to a pumpkin patch!

Daddy took me to the fire station and I got to go on the truck and visit with the firefighters. The next day, when Daddy came home from work he brought me this cool firefighter outfit. Grandma asked me if I wanted to wear it on Halloween and I said, "No, I want to be a VAMPIRE!!!!!"

My Adventure at the 2008 Sterlingfest Art and Jazz Festival

We had quite an adventure today! Grandma parked our car in the lot and we got a ride in a golf cart to the park. We got dropped off right at the entrance and the first thing we did was go to the kid's tent to do some painting. I got to wear an apron and the nice lady let me use all the colors to make my picture. Then she hung it up to dry so we could pick it up later.

The rides looked so cool. They had lots of stuff for me to do because now I'm 36 inches tall and can go by myself on the little kid's rides. The first one I went on was the train, because I love trains. I rode in the front, right in the locomotive.

Then Grandma let me go down the really big slide. She was a little nervous but I wasn't scared at all. It was fun!

The best of all though was the roller coaster. I got strapped in really good and I rode right in front. Some day I'll be ready to go on the really big ones!

We went back to the kid's tent to pick up my painting and there was a really nice man playing the guitar and singing kids songs. He asked us to come up on stage and I was on stage with him for a little while helping him sing.

It was time to go home, so we got back on the golf cart and they took us back to our car. But all of a sudden Grandma realized we must have dropped our keys in the golf cart. We couldn't find them anywhere. We asked a really nice policeman named Walt about it and he said someone had turned them in. He gave us a nice bottle of cold water. While we were waiting for the keys he let me sit in the police car and I even got to turn on the siren! Maybe someday I will be a policeman too and help people find their keys.

What an adventure! My Grandma is cool.
